Ron Edwards, M.S.

Ron Edwards, Master Sommelier is one of the elite wine and service professionals in the world. Due to the dedication and expertise required to earn the title there are only 167 Master Sommeliers worldwide and 95 in the United States of America. Each one of these rare individuals is exceptional in hospitality service, salesmanship and quality assessment. He and his colleagues also bring extensive knowledge of wines, spirits and beers to any situation. Ron became a Master Sommelier in 2005.

After many years in the restaurant industry Ron is an active consultant to all levels of the wine and hospitality trade. He brings his energy, experience and inspiration to businesses ranging from wine importers to hotels. He has a passion for meeting the consumer “where they are,” and has taught seminars to thousands of everyday wine drinkers. His monthly wine club offers carefully selected wines that take the risk out of buying an unknown wine, and the corporate world trusts him to entertain and impress its clients. One of Ron’s favorite privileges is training the next generation of professional sommeliers through the courses of The Court of Master Sommeliers.

In the past three years Ron has been engaged by Grand Hotel, Mackinac Island, Tapawingo, Ellsworth Michigan, Henry Ford Health Systems, Practical Winery and Vineyard, Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan, Townsend Hotel, Birmingham Michigan, 20 Brix Wine Bar, Milford Ohio, The Weather Channel, Robert Bosch Corporation and BuyersVine.com; just to name a few. In addition Ron and two partners created The Grapevine School of Wine, a unique educational experience for the public.

Exceptional cuisine has also been a focus of his life allowing him to work along side of culinary talents like CEC Brian Polcyn featured in The Soul of a Chef: The Journey Toward Perfection by Michael Ruhlman, Stuart Brioza named one of Americas Best Young Chefs by Food and Wine Magazine, James Beard Award Nominee Harlan “Pete” Peterson, and Jeremy Kittelson formerly of Blackbird in Chicago. He also has collaborated with a who’s who list of other chefs while coordinating wine pairings for special events.

Ron lives with his wife and four daughters in the beautiful lakeside town of Charlevoix Michigan.
